“I need to make something before I can organize it. I do not think, nor write, in a linear way. I need the messy, the unorganized, the whorl, before I can find the interesting patterns to follow. I guess this could be called data-driven (lovely expression), but it is more than a method of collecting data. For me, this also involves a lot of useless information that I throw into a big pot. And like I do when making blueberry jam, I scrape off the foam that rises to the top, and what I am left with is a gelled and tasty bit of research.”
